Urgent call: Reza Shahabi on his 41st day of hunger strike.

001Reza Shahabi is on his 41st day of hunger strike. According to an Urgent Action statement issued by the Amnesty International on September 18, 2017, Shahabi “is experiencing severe headaches and dizziness, drops in his blood pressure, worsening numbness on the left side of his body, burning sensations in his stomach and digestive problems. He is also believed to have lost about 13 kg. He was taken to the prison medical clinic on 31 August but did not receive the specialized medical care that he requires”. IASWI’s statement: In condemnation of the slaughter of cross- border porters in Iranian Kurdistan

00000The Islamic Republic of Iran’s security forces have committed yet another crime and killed two innocent, hardworking cross-border porters (merchandise-carriers known in Iran as Kolbar). These two latest victims have joined the long list of other cross-border porters, who in order to earn a meager income resort to carrying heavy goods on their back or horseback, and cross borders between Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan, (or between Iran and Pakistan) but become targets of the Islamic regime’s criminal security forces and never return to their families and loved ones. Reza-ShahabyBased on a report by the Syndicate ofthe Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, in order to prevent the confiscation of the bail money by the prosecutor’s office, Reza Shahabi, a Board Member of the Syndicate, together with a number of members of this Syndicate, his family and friends, presented himself to the Rajaee Shahr Prison, on Tuesday, 8th of August, 2017, at 6:20 P.M, and eventually, he was imprisoned in The Rajaee Shahr Prison, on 9th of August, 2017. Esmail Abdi transferred to hospital on June 3rd but is still on hunger strike

0000As previously reported by IASWI, Esmail Abdi was finally transferred to Khomeini Hospital in Tehran on Saturday, June 3, 2017. He had previously refused to be transferred to hospital with the prison uniform and in handcuffs. Prison authorities at last agreed to transfer him to hospital without the uniform or handcuffs. Abdi, a member of the board of directors of the Teachers’ Trade Association of Tehran (ITTA-Tehran), has been on hunger strike for 35 days since April 30, 2017.  He has not yet ended his hunger strike despite being transferred to the hospital. Solidaritet med gruvarbetarna i Azadshahr-Iran

Osäkra arbetsplatser är arbetarnas slakteriet!
På onsdagen den 3 maj 2017, inträffade en stor explosion i ”Yurt” kolgruva som ligger i Azadshahr i provins av Golestan i Iran på grund av en gasläcka och resulterade till att 44 arbetare har dött och 70 personer skadades. Denna gruvan saknade nödutgångar och andra nödvändiga säkerhetsutrustningar. Arbetarna, hade varnat arbetsgivaren flera gånger om lukten av gas före explosionen, men oavsett alla varningar, arbetsgivare tvingade arbetarna till att gå längst ned i gruvan och orsakade deras död. Vi skyller Islamiska Republiken som ansvarig för gruvarbetarnas död. Den islamisk kapitalist regeringen vilken ger en frihand till arbetsgivarna att behandla arbetarna hur som helst och lägger inga regler i hänsyn till arbetsplatsernas säkerhet och nu försöker att skylla på arbetarna för händelsen. Condemn Confirmation of six year sentence for Esmail Abdi by the Appeals Court of Tehran

j-eEsmail Abdi, the General Secretary of the Iranian Teachers’ Trade Association (ITTA-Tehran) was sentenced to six year of incarceration by verdict of the Branch 36 of Appeals Court of Tehran. This sentence which was announced on 7 October 2016 is a confirmation of a previous ruling by Judge Salavati, in February of 2015, who had condemned Abdi with cliché, preposterous charges such as “assembling and colluding against national security” to six years in prison.
