Don’t Forget the Brave Girl of the Revolution Street ! To Women’s Rights Organizations and Women’s Rights Activists, To Human Rights Organizations

4f57f036f0Vida Movahed, who was arrested because of her public protest against the Islamic compulsory law of the Hijab and restricted women’s rights is conditionally released from prison after massive international pressure on the Islamic regime. Under a peaceful protest on Revolution Street in Tehran, she used her white head scarf as a white flag as a sign for a nonviolence protest. She is 31 years old and she has a 19 month old daughter. Iranian women are under tremendous pressure by revolutionary gard, police and security forces  at work, in public areas,  at schools, at universities and even in private areas. Iranian women are at risk to be offer of the harsh punishments based on the Islamic sharia laws i.e. harsh punishments as insult, prison sentences or lashing.

Based on Amnesty International’s report an 18 years old girl is also arrested because of her protest against the compulsory hijab. She is in Gharachak prison right now.

We political and social activists condemn arrest of those women who are protesting against gender oppression and against the Islamic compulsory law of the Hijab. We ask women’s rights organizations, women’s rights activists, and the human rights organizations to condemn  injustices and gender oppression in Iran. We ask everybody to follow up on the question about people who are arrested during recent protests in Iran.
